Is there a distance between an object that you perceive and your awareness of it?
Is there a distance between an image and the screen?
Is the space in which an apple appears different from the space in which the galaxy appears?
The reason these questions are so important and valuable is because it means that if there are not two things, an object and awareness, an image and a screen, then there is only one thing, one Condition, not two. A Condition is not a thing. A Condition is a Realm, a Situation.
If What Exists is not a thing, How can it contain all things? Because it is all things. Awareness and perception are not two things any more than a whirlpool and a river are two things. Perception is a feature of awareness like the whirlpool is a feature of the river.
I hear people say that Awareness is Emptiness, Void, dimensionless, without qualities or features and I agree with that.
What gets left out though is the fact that Awareness Exists, qualities or not, void or not.
This means that what you ARE, What the body, the mind, the Youniverse is, every last thing, every atom exists because Awareness Exists and are seamlessly united with it.
“Objects don’t have existence. Existence has objects”
This understanding enables the ability to meet and greet Life without restraint or agenda. With nothing held back. Drowned in the Thrall of a Passionate Embrace. Without the imposition of our expectations and dictates. It enables the deep passion of the River to emerge unmolested by our Inner Mafia, the Kidnapper of Innocence.
If Consciousness and Objects are seamlessly united, then everything is possible. Everything becomes possible because Consciousness and Imagination are now free from the gun that we hold to its’ head in the form of our self- concept and agenda. By slathering our puny concepts onto the Radiant Wonder, we hold It hostage in the dark alley with the gun of our unilluminated malware.
Consciousness and Imagination are perfectly willing to go along with our charade and offer no resistance or warnings. What happens is, the Farce of an independent Me gets murdered by the Hitman of the Heart. He cut the brake lines in our Get Away car and we go over the Cliff, bye, bye.
Shattered and in pieces at the bottom of the Canyon, we crawl through the windshield and are shocked to be alive. Tears of gratitude are streaming down our face and we say, Never again will I be a part of the Mafia, the Lie of a separate self, the Sindicate that mugs the Innocent, steals her purse and leaves her for dead in the street.
Far better to be Shot by the Hitman of the Heart who puts a Bullet through the head of our blindness to the Searing Truth that only Consciousness Exists and you’re It.
Staggering around at the bottom of the Canyon, I notice how Bright things are, how the Light glistens off the Face of the Cliff. My skull is cracked open and every bone in my body is broken, yet I’m walking around Completely Astounded by Everything.
The Doctors sew me back together and when I get out of the hospital, I sit on a park bench staring at the birds and the sky. For years.
Then, I start writing about it, obsessed by it, compelled by it. I’m grateful to the Hitman. He can kill the sense of a separate Me as many times as needed, no problem.
Could the Whirlpool ever exists independently of the River? It’s absurd, even to ask the question is absurd.
Think about that the next time you try to cram your Self into a concept that is too small. All concepts are too small. That’s because you ain’t no concept.
You are the Presence of God, of Infinite Consciousness, alive as an apparent individual, a Whirlpool in a River of Light.
When this is Noticed and Understood, your identity shifts from Egocentric to Theocentric. You don’t stop being an ego, a whirlpool.
You start Noticing and Living as the Mighty River Itself
